POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man had his jaw broken after an attack outside a popular nightspot.
The 32-year-old victim was attacked by another man outside Hartlepool club, Shades, in Church Street, in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, July 27.

Police say the incident happened at the rear of the club between 1am and 3am.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: " The man punched him, knocking him unconscious and left him with a broken jaw."

The victim was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool, and then transferred to James Cook University Hospital, where a steel plate was fitted to his jaw.

Anyone with information can contact PC Greg Owens of Hartlepool Police on (01642) 302126 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
